Until today the Romanesque forms as an associational idea the image of many, especially sacral buildings between the Baltic Sea and the Mediterranean. In an impressive way the project TRANSROMANICA is devoted to this common cultural heritage of Europe. The initiative, funded by the EU in 2003 and led as an association since 2007, wants to approximate the fascination of the Romanesque to a wide public. Ten regions, seven countries remember their common roots in a modern, politically capable Europe.
